Morrish May CDC Emerger BWO

Morrish May CDC Emerger BWO Size 16

In this video, Greg ties a Morris May BWO emerger fly pattern using CDC as a wing instead of deer or elk hair which makes the fly pattern ride lower in the water where fish are more likely to strike.

Blue Wing Olive hatches occur in early afternoons in May-June and September-November especially on cloudy, drizzly days that are still warm. Always have a dry fly setup ready and depending on the season leader lengths should be between nine to twelve ft. with tippet diameter of 5x.

These mayflies are small and I tie them on a Daiichi/Core C1120 or Teimco 2457 in sizes 16-20. Klinkhammer type hooks would work great too.

Give them a shot!
